CX Summer Session: Captivating Creativity through the Cave Match with Chris Sams and Basel Al-Naffouri (#S18-08-2788)

Class Time/Dates: August 31, September 1,2, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10-5pm
Class length: 18 hours total of instruction
Class size: 14 students maximum
Performance: Sunday September 3, 7pm (students can watch or perform for an audience, winner-take-all evening in the Cave Match)
Pre-requisites: Foundation 3 and above and non BATS students with a minimum of 1 year improv training

With a ton of variety and brand-new, boundary-breaking formats, BATS Improv students showcase their creativity and improvisation talents in the competition known as Cave Match, BATS' playful punny twist on other cities' Cage Match.

Learn intriguing techniques and explore new genres and performance formats. You will test out your wild ideas to see what it might look like to stage them, experience class collaboration, develop imaginative techniques to maximize the most of the experience and learn how to master the minutes of the 37-minute timer tickdown. You'll also learn tools and tips for hosting and find out some best practices to make you a better team captain and a sharper more fun improv performance director.

The intensive will leave you empowered and emboldened to be your own team captain and recruit the team and talent you want for future shows. The intensive does not make you eligible for the ongoing BATS Cave Match.

BATS Improv Class Refund Policy:

Class cancellation policy:

• If you cancel more than 96 hours (4 days) before a class begins, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee.
• If you cancel within 96 hours (4 days) of your first class, your tuition will be forfeit.

Summer Youth and Adult Sessions cancellation policy:

• If you cancel more than 14 days (2 weeks) before your first class, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee.
• If you cancel within 14 days (2 weeks) of your first class, your tuition will be forfeit.

All cancellation and refund requests must be emailed to registrar@improv.org, and include the title and start date of your class.

In the event that we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we’ll refund your tuition in full.

Please note: In the past, we have offered class credit in lieu of refunds. We are no longer able to offer this option. Each class tuition payment will stand on its own, and is non-transferable.
